Our promise if we ever close- How does a Wi‑Fi QR code work?
- The network name, password and security type are encoded in the image using a standard format every phone understands. Scan it with the camera and the phone offers to join.
- Is my password sent anywhere?
- No. The code is generated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and we never see it.
- Does it expire?
- No. It's just the password, turned into a picture. There is nothing behind it that could switch off.
- Does it work on iPhone and Android?
- Yes. Both have read Wi‑Fi QR codes with the built‑in camera for years.
- What if I change my Wi‑Fi password?
- Print a new code. A free code can't be changed after it's made, and for Wi‑Fi that's usually fine.
- Can I add my logo?
- Yes. Use the logo button above. We make the code a little more robust so it still scans with the logo in the middle.
